More Stones-19.9.2010

Here is a stone specially painted for my Art Teacher, Dolly. A token of appreciation from me to her. I have joined her Art Class since last year, December 2009.  I have learned a lot from her regarding painting especially painting flowers and yet to learn more.  I am sure we have a lot of projects to do later on.  Keep  browsing on my blog, I will assure you that there are more things on Arts to be posted later.

More stones for my colleagues. Hope you like those stones too.

I love all my creations and all stones are precious to me.  Have a nice day!

Knitted Toys from Colleagues-12.9.2010

As I have just mentioned earlier that my colleaques were also crazy over knitting. These toys were knitted and given to me by a few of my colleaques as gifts.  We used to exchange knitted toys.  I really appreciate their gifts and efforts.

Frosty the snow people and a pot of  flowers.

Santa Claus

Babyface Brooches.
Arent't they interesting? How I wish we can start knitting again but nowadays everyone prefers to  surf the net or too busy with something else. We always pick up new hobbies and follow the trend..  Perhaps, we  will knit again in a later date.

Knitting knitwear is very interesting but knitting toy is more interesting for me. Once my colleagues and I were crazy over knitting.  We followed Jean Greenhowe's knitting book.  We have many delightful  knitted characters. I had knitted those soft toys as shown below.

There are crowns, teddy bear, ballerina, ect.
There are litter Bo Peep, Penguin, Ms Valentine (in red), Chimney Sweep etc.

Painting stones-11.9.2010

I find painting stones is very interesting.  I have painted a few stones for my colleaques, friends and relatives as souvenir and rememberance.  I just hope that they like and treasure my stones.  I know some really appreciated it. The more I paint, the more ideas and improvements I have developed. I guess creativeness depends on practice.

I had painted quite a number of stones recently.  Do have a look at the painted stones below.

Here are some painted stones for my colleaques. There are varieties of designs, flowers and colours.

Red colour goes very well with white. Red is very sharp, bright and outstanding.  In fact, any colours can match white colour.

Grey stones also look attractive too.  Grey stones are more expensive and have smoother texture.  Of course, I admire my own painting and wanted to paint and keep a few stones for myself especially after all the hard works Ihave done. Here there are.

I am so crazy over painting stones. I have given away numerous painted stones and still have a basket full of painted stones to be given away and yet to paint more. So "seow ah".

Painting on Used Table Calendar Cardboard-7.9.2010

I used to collect beautiful paintings or pictures from previous table calendars. While cutting out the pictures from the said calendars, suddenly it came to my mind that I should recycle the calendar cardboards instead of throwing them away.  So, I  painted some flowers on the said cardboards.  Not a bad idea, right?  Instead of painting on papers and filing them away, I might as well make use of the said cardboards so that I can place them on my table instead.

Here are the recycled calendar boards.

Knitwear-4.9.2010

Knitting is one of my hobbies. I still remember once I started knitting, I can't stop. It's very addictive.  I would knit rolls after rolls until I can see some patterns.  There are many types of colourful threads, wools, etc. for sales. There are many different sizes of knitting needles and some are made of thin plastic and metal rods.  Some of the knitwears I had knitted are shown below:

Of course, I learned knitting from someone.  Last time I used to go to the Handycraft shops to buy my wools and threads.  The people at the Handycraft shops are very skillful, they taught me how to knit and I picked up knitting from there.  All you have to do is buy wools or threads from their shop, they will teach you free of charge whatever designs you desire.

Closed-up of the patterns. It looks complicated.  Well, it is complicated.  I can't remember the steps or how I did it already. But I did it, I did it. I am proud to say so.....hahaha.....

I kinda like this sweater, but no chance to wear it often.  The weather here is very hot.

These pictures were taken recently but knitting were done previously.  I might continue this hobby of mine later on.

Makeover-1.9.2010

One day, while I was doing my laundry, I noticed that the containers which I used to keep all my clothes pegs/laundry clips are very old and rusty. Those containers were actually almond biscuit tins. I was quite bored then, so I decided to paint those rusty tin and hopefully I can cover those rust.  True enough, I had covered it and  moreover I also had transformed the old rusty tin into a clean and attractive tin.  Makeover really makes a difference.

I hope I didn't disappoint any of you as you might expected a makeover of a human being instead of a tin. If so, please accept my aplogies. However, makeover of a human being might come in on a later issue. No promises....hahaha.......

I am sure these tins looked very familiar to you.  It's almond biscuits tin.

You usually can see these tins during Chinese New Year.

After makeover, front and reverse side of the tin.

I have left one more tin undoned due to tireness.  I was quite contented with what I did eventhough those flowers were not beautifully painted. The tin looked bright and it cheered up my garden.  Please excuse me because I was quite bored and tired on that day.  One fine day, I will paint the other tin as well. Hopefully it will turned up better.
