Butterfly on T-shirt-22.05.2011

Good Afternoon Everyone!

This is my 1st experience painting on a T-Shirt.  I think painting on T-Shirt is easier and faster than painting on glasses or woods because it is easier to blend the fabric paints on materials.  It doesn't need extra attention to do it.

My friend, Chooi and I tried painting a butterfly and a hydrangea.   It is very simple and easy to paint hydrangeas.  Once you know the method and technique, you can paint anything successfully.

I love Today - 11.05.2011

I am not afraid of tomorrow for I have seen yesterday and I love today.  It's a very nice saying.  Today is a very pleasant day although it is a very busy day for me.  Hope everyone is having a great day.

I love painting this board as I like the flowers and the colours combination.  I am quite satisfied with the end result.

Roses on Boxes-19.04.2011

Hi!

I found a few unused boxes in my cupboard.  Those are coloured boxes but looked very plain.  So I decided to paint some roses on the boxes and hopefully it will turned out nice.  I just gave it try. Well, it turned out nice to me. 

The 1st box was either a watch or a pen box but now I use it as my pencil case.

Caballo box was my purse box.

Aren't they beautiful?  Hahaha..............

Rose Buds-17.4.2011

Rose Buds without petal or with less petals also look good.  The Rose Buds normally look sweet and tender.

The Rose Buds that appeared on the vines are pink in colour on this bottle.  The vines are climbing up the bottles, it made the Rose Buds and design more attractive.

Roses on Bottles-17.4.2011

There are so many types of Roses can be painted. So many strokes needed to apply to form the rose petals.  Different strokes create different type of roses.  Painting roses is very challenging. How to form the petals to create a big and beautiful rose? How real and natural the roses look like? Well, this is what it's all about.  How you apply your strokes is very important.  Lots to learn......

These are a few of the roses I had painted on bottles recently.

Hope to show you more complicated roses in the near future.

Reaching out through Art

Fund raising for Perak Autistic Society was held at YMCA Ipoh on Saturday, 12 March 2011.  There were Story Telling session and Rice Paper Painting session with Artist, Theresa Lim Mun Sim.

Theresa Lim was born and bred in Ipoh.  She developed a keen interest in art at a young age and became Perak's first woman architect after her studies in Architecture at Sydney University in 1956. She served as Principal Lecturer in the Civil Engineering Building Department of Singapore Polytechnic until 1987.  Theresa continue to nurture her passion for art under the tutelage of Chinese artists like Chen Wen Hsi and David Kwok.  Having already published 2 books on her eary years in Ipoh, she is now eager to share her understanding of love through her paintings and writing.

The painting session at YMCA was opened to children and adults, maximum intake of 15 participants only.  Materials were provided. 

Four of my friends and I had attended the Rice Paper Painting session.

All the participants were provided with a palette together with a black, red, blue, green and yellow water colour and 3 different sizes of Chinese Brushes. After Theresa Lim explained and demostrated the Rice Paper Painting to us, we were asked to practise on a piece of Rice Paper.  It was a very good experience for me.  That was my first experience painting on Rice Paper and also my first experience painting Chinese Art.  It was very fascinating, interesting and fun to paint on Rice Paper. We we taught how to paint water lilies and fishes.

My 1st piece of Rice Paper Chinese Painting.

The Rice Paper Painting session took an hour only. As soon as the Rice Paper Painting session ended, it was followed by Storytelling session for children.

ii)  A Little Grain of Rice

This event was organised by Autism Support Association for Parents, Ipoh, Perak (ASAP) (0023-09-PRK).
